the frame project
'the frame project' is a self-portrait series begun in 2023, in which my nude body appears enclosed within a mirror frame.
More than a boundary, the frame becomes a question: does art gain legitimacy once it is contained?
By confronting the viewer with both my reflection and their own gaze, the project exposes the double standard that venerates historical nudes
while censoring contemporary nude photography.
The mirror implicates the observer, blurring subject and viewer, and revealing how judgment, shame, and power shape what we accept as art.
Situated between reverence and rejection, 'the frame project' asserts the nude not as something to be hidden or controlled, but as art, presence,
and quiet protest.
